cinematic stories in a three-dimensional space
Jonathan Stavleu combines multiple objects in spacial dioramas. His small sculptural installations are a search for a way to show cinematic stories in a three-dimensional space. His work unites the three-dimensionality of architecture/sculpturing and the narrative qualities of film. Furthermore, he turns typical impressive, meaningful moments into less impressionable scenes, and directs all attention to seemingly meaningless moments. For this, he uses familiar domestic objects and adds sound, light and movement.
